Job Description:


Are you looking for a part-time position with a reputable financial institution? Citizens Business Bank is seeking a Service Representative I to join our team in San Gabriel, CA. As a Service Representative I, you will play a crucial role in providing prompt, efficient, and friendly service to our valued customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Transaction Processing: Handle various financial transactions, including check cashing, deposits, withdrawals, consumer, real estate, and commercial loan payments, money order and check sales, traveler’s checks processing, and foreign currency exchange.
  2. Customer Service: Greet customers in person and over the telephone, answer incoming calls, take messages, and assist or direct callers. Answer customer questions and cross-sell other bank services when opportunities arise.
  3. Administrative Tasks: Perform light filing, input check orders, process address changes, call customers to verify checks, and assist in processing various reports.
  4. Deposit Handling: Receive and verify commercial and individual checking deposits, issue receipts, and place holds on accounts for uncollected funds according to regulations.
  5. Loan Payments: Receive loan payments, check due dates, and assess late charges when applicable.
  6. Additional Services: Accept requests for the purchase of U.S. Savings Bonds, handle stop payment requests, check reorders, and address changes, and distribute them to the appropriate personnel for processing.
  7. Security and Compliance: Maintain the security of negotiable items and adhere to all relevant banking regulations.
  8. Miscellaneous Tasks: Process incoming mail, courier deliveries, ATM transactions, Night Drop deposits, and payments, as well as Treasury tax (TT&L) and loan payments. Handle signature cards and transfers as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor relating to the bank’s operations.
  9. Customer-Centric Approach: Provide, present, and promote “The Citizens Experience” to all external and internal customers.



To be successful in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED and a minimum of six months of experience as a service representative in a financial institution, or six months of experience with cash handling and customer service.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, write, and effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
  • Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in basic mathematical operations, including addition and subtraction of two-digit numbers and multiplication and division with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Reasoning Ability: Capacity to apply common sense to carry out instructions and address simple problems in standardized situations.

Physical Demands:

This position involves various physical demands, including standing, walking, using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting/moving up to 25 pounds. It also requires good vision for close and distance tasks.

Job Benefits:

  • Competitive hourly salary ranging from $18.00 to $19.50.
  • Part-time position with 28 hours per week.
