Description
As a Pre-Closing Loan Documentation Review Specialist, your primary responsibility is to contribute to the achievement of the bank’s strategic goals by meticulously documenting loans in accordance with credit approvals, the bank’s loan policies, and all pertinent laws and regulations. You will ensure the proper authorization of loans, the perfection of collateral, and the attainment of the desired lien position.
Specific Job Functions
- Familiarize yourself with the bank’s lending policies, procedures, and regulations, and execute your duties in a manner that upholds compliance with these established standards.
- Conduct a comprehensive pre-closing review of loans to:
- Verify that documents conform to the approved terms and conditions outlined in the loan memo.
- Confirm that appropriate due diligence documentation has been completed and received.
- Validate the accuracy of Loan Codes.
- Notify the Production team of potential issues and provide recommendations to address problems or conflicts related to loan collateral or documentation.
- Identify missing or incorrect documentation in loan files and work towards solutions.
- Review relevant data input within the Loan Operating System to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in identifying trends in errors discovered during the loan documentation verification process.
Minimum Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Six (6) months of experience in banking.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries.
- Advanced problem-solving abilities.
- Capability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
- Proficiency in reading, comprehending, and evaluating detailed and complex loan documents.
- Strong understanding of loan documentation and processing policies and procedures, along with knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations, as well as internal control processing.
